The Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council is pushing forward with plans to redevelop the area’s “brand name.”
The move is part of an effort to revive the Gulf Coast’s image after the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill all but destroyed tourism revenues this past summer.
At a meeting in November, the group’s executive director, Kate Wilkes, worried out loud that because of declining revenues, the TDC would not have the funds they needed to proceed with advertising efforts.
