Organizers for the first-ever sand sculpting festival at Navarre Beach said they were thrilled with the turnout last weekend for the two-day event which drew spectators from as far away as Arkansas.
Despite the threat of inclement weather – and an overnight downpour – overcast skies did little to dampen the spirits of spectators and sculptors alike.
“The turnout was phenomenal,” said organizer William Younce, a member of MDi Media Group Inc., the group charged with coordinating the event.
