Turning his seat around, Chad Volland made himself comfortable, folding his arms across the back of his chair.

In light of the impending oil slick in the Gulf of Mexico and the emotional chaos surrounding its landfall, Chad appeared determined, yet full of resolve for the fate of his business, Cocodrie's Restaurant on Navarre Beach.

"The oil? Yes it's caused our business to slow down," said the 33-year-old restaurateur. "Even though it hasn't really hit the beach, people aren't making reservations and they aren't keeping reservations."

Since the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig April 20, local business owners, including tourism hot-spots, have seen a decline in revenue and visitors.

Chad is no different.
