Seven injured in two-car collision

Six others were also transported to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, Faustino Lopez-Perez, 36, of Pace, was traveling west on State Road 30 - Navarre Parkway - in the left lane around 7:45 p.m. May 13.

At the same time, Melinda R. Feldner, 44, of Navarre, was traveling east on Navarre Parkway, and was in the left-turn lane preparing to go north on Fox Den Drive.

Feldner failed to yield to the right of way to Lopez-Perez approaching and turned left in front of him, according to the release.

The front end of Lopez-Perez's 1996 Isuzu struck the right side of Feldner's 2002 Volkswagon sedan. The Isuzu then overturned and came to a final rest upside down in the westbound lane of Navarre Parkway.

Lopez-Perez was taken to Baptist hospital for treatment of critical injuries, followed by one of his passengers, Pedro Gonzalez, 36, of Pace, who had serious injuries.

Lopez-Perez's other two passengers, Juan Manuel, 22, and Victor Alfonso, 24, both of Pace, were also taken to Baptist for treatment of minor injuries.

Feldner received minor injuries, as did two of her passengers, Matt Feldner, 6, and Katie Feldner, 17, also of Navarre. They were taken to Sacred Heart Hospital.

Feldner's other two passengers, Ben Rudderforth, age unknown, and Jackson Rudderforth, age unknown, also of Navarre, were uninjured.

Feldner was charged for violating a right of way and Lopez-Perez was charged for driving without a license and not wearing a seatbelt.

Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
