Zoo opens for business

In the quiet of a Wednesday morning, the Gulf Breeze Zoo opened its doors for more than employees.

After being closed for more than six months, the zoo opened to the public Feb. 17 at 9 a.m.

"We're very excited to finally get the doors open and get people in here," said Eric Mogensen, owner of the zoo.

Mogensen bought the zoo last November from Animal Park Inc. after a financial plight caused it to close in August.

The zoo will be open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Adult admission is $12, $11 for seniors, $8 for kids 2-12 and miltiary members get $1 off each price.

Feed cups and train rides are $3.
