Pensacola Bay Bridge deemed 'structurally deficient'

Bridge_250pxFifty-year-old Pensacola Bay Bridge is  "structurally deficient"  and should be replaced within six years, according to Jim DeVries of the Florida Department of Transportation.

"The bridge is safe, there's no problem driving on it,"  DeVries told members of the Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization at their meeting Jan. 13 in Milton.  "But it is a signal that we need to make (bridge replacement) a higher priority."
