Residents on Monday asked Santa Rosa County's legislative delegation to encourage oil exploration, lower unemployment benefits and review sales-tax exemptions, among other requests -- some with more far-reaching implications.

"The Equal Rights Amendment is not dead,"  Ann Del Rio of Pace told state representatives and senators whose districts include all or part of Santa Rosa County. "I'm not a 'libber' or anything like that, but (women) need a living wage. We need this amendment."
