Navarre woman dies in SR 87 crash

A Navarre woman was killed in an early morning crash Sunday, July 5.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, Kristine McLaughlin, 27, was traveling southbound on State Road 87 in a Chevy Tracker around 8:07 a.m. when she crossed the center yellow line and traveled southbound in the northbound lane and into the pathway of Ronald Germany, 47, of Brandon, Miss.
Germany swerved to his right onto the concrete shoulder of the Yellow River Bridge, attempting to avoid McLaughlin.
Her Tracker struck the front left of Germany's Ford sport-utility-vehicle, and continued southbound while rotating. McLaughlin then struck the left side of at a GMC pick-up, driven by Jonathan Mitchell, 29, of Biloxi, Miss.
Mitchell was towing a boat, which McLaughlin also hit, and was propelled against the northbound concrete wall of the bridge.
The Tracker continued southwest and came to a final rest next to the steel guardrail at the end of the bridge.
McLaughlin was not wearing a seatbelt, and as a result, was ejected from her car, according to the release. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Lifeguard Medical Services.
All charges are pending a traffic homicide investigation.
