Jacobs, 34, was released on a $7,500 bond from the Escambia County Sheriff's Office with a court date of July 10. He is charged with first offense DUI, DUI and damaging property and a third-degree felony count of criminal mischief,
According to the ECSO report, Jacobs was traveling on J. Earle Bowden Way when he allowed his car to drift into oncoming traffic, striking Kirsten and James Hering around 3 p.m. June 20. The release doesn't state if there were any injuries.
Jacobs "performed poorly" on field sobriety tests. He submitted to a breathalizer test two hours later at the jail, which registered his blood alcohol content to be 0.16 and 0.149. The legal limit is 0.08.
Calls to Jacobs for a comment were not returned.
