Navarre man faces vehicular homicide, DUI manslaughter charges

The drunk driver charged with killing a man in an April Fools’ Day crash was cited for driving with an open container in March.

Stewart, 26, of Chapparal Street in Navarre, was driving a Ford sport-utility vehicle east on East Bay Boulevard shortly after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, when he came upon a Chevrolet passenger car being driven by Bartholomew R. Cole, 25, of Gulf Breeze. Bartholomew also had been driving east but had slowed to turn left onto Mossy Oaks Drive.
