New ISO ratings could lower insurance bills

Most Holley-Navarre property owners should pay less for insurance after June 1, when new risk ratings take effect.

Holley-Navarre Fire Chief Ron Norton told fire commissioners at their meeting Monday, March 23, that ISO has adjusted the district’s ratings from 9/7 to 10/5. The highest ISO rating, 10, indicates the highest risk to property. Lower ratings indicate lower risk. Many, but not all, insurance companies use the ISO rating as a factor when calculating insurance premiums.
