TOPIC: 4th/2nd of July

4th/2nd of July 01 Jul 2009 17:55 #107

Tonight I am a bit perplexed with the decisions of the powers that be.
I’ve just found out that Navarre is setting off Fireworks on Thursday night.
Wouldn't it have been a better idea to have moved the Thursday night music to Saturday and have the Fireworks on the day that we declared our independence?
I can understand that you have already scheduled a Thursday night of music, yet the 2nd of July is NOT our Day of Independence, it is the 4th of July.
Unfortunately I will not be able to partake in my favorite night of the year due to a change in date of the fireworks display.
I will be traveling to Navarre when the lights in the sky will be shimmering on the intercostal, to my mothers home, to a place that I was hoping to be able to enjoy with my friend- (who is moving to Australia in August) her last 4th for a while.
I am considered a vacationer now that I have moved out of the area and The Fourth of July is my FAVORITE national holiday. I am sad that I will not be able to enjoy the lights and sounds of independence on the 4th in Navarre.
Sincerely,
A Sad Patriot Vacationer
