Suvrving Step by Step: Goodbye Summer, Hello New Schedule

Well, the most important part of summer is over. Vacation. All the children are back in school and hopefully I can concentrate on a few new projects. Time to look for a part-time job and get the cob webs out of the corners. I did do some deep cleaning last week when my husband and two younger children were out of town. Was nice to start and stop at my own pace without worrying about dinner or anything else. I missed them a lot and it was very quiet. Now with school back in session, our mornings and evenings are very busy. We have after school sport practices and homework now taking the place of  “The Lazy days of Summer”.

I was outside a lot pulling weeds and it was warm. Over the next few days, I started seeing red bumps on my skin. I was concerned and asked my sister to look and tell me her opinion. We think they could be from the heat. I will watch them closely. Most have faded away. I’m not wearing a brayet. The skin is healed but thin. I would like a week or two more so it can toughen up. Maybe gradually wear for a few hours here or there. But my gardens are almost all weeded and I did finally get a few colorful plants and hope to get them in the planters Thursday. I felt better accomplishing a few things.

I will be heading to Tampa with my youngest son this Sunday and Monday. He has a doctor’s appointment. That is where my husband and sons went. I hope for good driving weather. My youngest son is part of the Shriner’s  Hospital program. They will drive us there on Sunday(stay overnight) and take us to our appointment in the morning. When we are finished, we leave to come home. My family and I are very grateful for all they do for families everywhere.

I’m in a quiet part of my treatments. Just the weekly Herceptin on Wednesday. My next doctors appointment is the third week of September. Then we will discuss setting up a date for a body scan. I will get nervous as the time approaches. But with all the new activities, I’m sure to keep the thoughts in the back of my mind.

My Faith will keep me strong and my Family will make me smile. Life is good.
