The light is beginning to shine at the end of the tunnel. I have renewed energy and am quite excited to almost be finished with my radiation. The days went fast even though at times I was dragging. I’m on the big countdown. This past week was very trying. My skin did break under my breast and boy, did it sting. I was told where to get some medicine to help take care of the problem. I put this mixed up solution (using a cloth or gauze) right on the peeling area. It is supposed to help dry it out so it can start healing. Looks like more will peel off, but I will be ready. It is very uncomfortable and tender. I also had all my tape markings pulled off. I Had to do it slowly and carefully, since some of them were really stuck to the skin. Today (July 10), I will get some new markings. They will be concentrated right to the area where the tumor was located. For me that is right in the middle. The last five treatments are called “booster treatments.” It will be very sore and tender by the end of the week. From that point on, the skin will slowly start healing itself. I faithfully put the lotion and aloe on and know I did my best to help with the healing process.
I’m taking my children to watch the Blue Angels. We will only make it to the National Seashore area. We’ve seen them there before and it is a decent place without all the traffic and staying in the heat for too long. There is a deck where they will watch and I will probably go inside the building and stay cool. Next week I will take them bowling. We are celebrating my oldest son’s birthday Sunday. He will be 19. I have a secret gift for him. I found it today when I was out shopping. He will think his mom isn’t all together, but it will bring a smile to all of us. I’m sure even to him too. Will let you know how it went over. My Faith will keep me strong and my Family will make me smile. Life is good.
