Surviving Step By Step: And the cold lives on

Yesterday I had a Herceptin treatment. It all went well until later in the day. With my cold I can't figure out if my yucky feeling is me or the treatment. I figured both. I was very tired but found it hard to settle down for a good rest. My throat is sore and my ears are beginning to hurt along with my pounding headache. I did take some Tylenol, getting some relief but it was a constant all day. I told myself, get up and you will feel better. It works for only a short while because then you start to feel tired from trying to accomplish normal tasks around the house. My children see me on the couch more than I like them to. They know now that this will happen more often. Not being able to really talk much, I did manage to carry on a conversation with each one as they came home from school. How's school today, any homework, feeling okay? Two of them have not completely shaken their colds, either. Very vicious cycle.

 Last night was crazy though. I took some Tylenol at 8 p.m. Watched "Lost " of course. Then headed to bed. That is real early for me. By midnight I was watching the clock  until I could get up and take something else for my really bad headache. Forget the sore throat and ears, my head was pounding. I ended up taking two Motrin. I had asked the doctor at one time if Motrin was okay and they said yes. But it also depends on your lab work. I also wet a wash cloth with cold water and applied it to my head. The relief was good. I managed to fall asleep for awhile. I keep water by my bedside because I get thirsty a lot and don't always like getting up.  It is 10 a.m. right now and I have three hours until my appointment. My green tea tastes good and I will eventually make it to the shower. No big hurry. What else can I do this morning? Laundry is done. Maybe make some pumpkin bread. My youngest loves it. Good comfort food. Until another day, My faith will keep me strong and my family will make me smile. Life is good.
