Diane Coleman of Navarre is the new chairperson of the Santa Rosa County Board of Education.
Coleman, a photographer, businesswoman and former teacher, was elected to her first term on the board in 2002 and re-elected in 2006. She represents District 3, which includes Holley-Navarre Primary, Holley-Navarre Intermediate, Holley-Navarre Middle, Navarre High, West Navarre Primary and West Navarre Intermediate schools. She also chaired the school board in 2006.
Also at the its annual reorganization meeting Monday, the board selected Diane Scott of Milton, a professor in the University of West Florida's Department of Social work, to be vice chair. Scott was elected to her first term in 2006.
Coleman succeeds Ed Gray III of Gulf Breeze.
