SRSO deputy charged with additional sex crimes PDF Print E-mail

According to a report issued by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Office of the State Attorney, John Mitchell Tomlinson, of Navarre, has been charged with five counts of sexual battery on a child under 12, a capital felony. 

Tomlinson, 46, a Lieutenant with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, was arrested on March 9 and charged with 120 counts of sexual battery on a child between the ages of 12 and 18. 

Earlier this week Tomlinson was transferred from the Santa Rosa County Jail to the Walton County Jail. 

Bond has been set at $500,000.

Navarre's Jan Evans Fernald told the Santa Rosa Democrats on Mar. 8 that she felt compelled to enter the special election for Florida's House of Representatives, District 4.

 

"I've wanted to get involved for a while," Fernald told the group in Milton. "I've thought about county commission and school board, but this is an opportunity that I felt I must take."

Bryan tells Dems he can unseat Jeff Miller PDF Print E-mail

Jim Bryan, running as a democrat for U.S. House of Representatives, District 1, told the Santa Rosa Democrats, at their Mar. 8 meeting, that he can take Jeff Miler's seat in November.

 

"I got 100,000 votes in the last election," Bryan told the crowd of several dozen. "This is my second time running for this seat, and my support is grass roots. I don't have the big contributors that Jeff Miller does, but together we can get this done."
