On Dec. 7, 2009, the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners decided there where so many issues surrounding the Summerwind’s beach leases, they would have to study the issue further.

The Underwater Marine Sanctuary Committee recently met and the first item on the agenda was replacing Mark Griffith as the committee chairman.

A short, but violent storm passed through Navarre Beach on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2009, around 7:30 p.m. With the storm came high winds, tornado warnings and scattered lightning. Besides a high surf and sand blown across the streets, the storm appeared to inflict little damage to the beach.
