June 17 was just like any other day for Cinnamon Holderman. She climbed aboard an all-terrain vehicle about 5:30 a.m. and began searching for turtle tracks on the beach.
About 30 minutes later, everything changed. In the sand were the tell-tale signs that a turtle had been on the beach. She quickly found a nest, the first on Navarre Beach this year.
“This nest was too close to the water and it had to be moved,” Holderman said. “The tracks indicated that it was a loggerhead nest.”
