One of the first sights visitors to Navarre Beach see is an orange reader board with amber lights on a black background warning guests to  “Guard your valuables.”

“It might as well say  ‘Lock up your women and children,’”  joked Dorothy Slye, chairperson of the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council Board of Directors, at a recent TDC meeting.
