It’s been 25 years since The ZOO Northwest Florida first opened its ‘cages’ to the public.
Now, they’re hoping for 25 more.
What started out as a privately owned zoo, blossomed into a nonprofit organization that sees more than 110,000 visitors yearly.
Roughly 60-percent of that figure are tourists – visitors who traveled from outside the tri-county area of Esambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa.
